Eparchial Day — 2022

The day 25th October, 2022 was colourful to all the members of the Eparchy of Satna as it celebrated the Eparchial Day – 2022. The day was lovely with the presence of jubilarians – Priests, Religious Sisters and Married couples who celebrate their silver / golden jubilee of their devoted life.

The day started with an hour of inspirational talk by His Excellency Gerald Almeida, Bishop of Jabalpur. His Excellency was cordially welcomed by Rev Fr Augustine Chittuparambil, the Syncellus and was draped a shawl by His Excellency Mar Joseph Kodakallil as he celebrated the Silver Jubilee of his episcopal ordination.In his inspirational talk, His Excellency Gerald Almeida shared the missionary activities of Jabalpur diocese and exhorted the participants to venture into new methods of evangelization and bear witness to Jesus Christ in an effective way.

After having the tea, the entire community gathered in St Ephrem’s Church for the Pontifical Holy Qurbana, officiated by Mar Joseph Kodakallil. The jubilarians – Rev Fr Varghese Naickomparampil VC, Fr Sebastian Veluthedathukkattil VC, Fr Mathew Kazhuthadiyil and Fr Francis Mattathil – concelebrated with him.

The Eparchy of Satna was blessed with the great presence of one of its pioneer missionaries on this special day in the person of Rev Fr Varghese Naickomparambil VC. He shared his missionary journey and he enriched the occasion as he entered into the Golden Jubilee of his religious priesthood. He is currently working in Meerganj, under Bareilly Diocese, in Uttar Pradesh.

Eleven Sisters from different religious congregations working in the eparchy were honoured in their jubilee year. They are: Sr Alacoque CSN from Nazareth Bhavan, Pateri and Sr Boni Maria FCC from FCC Convent, Sidhi celebrate their Golden Jubilee of religious commitment: Sr Elizabeth SH from Sacred Heart Convent, Dewra, Sr Shincy DST from Bethania, Ephremnagar, Sr Rani Therese CHF from Holy Family Convent, Kailaspur, Sr Kripa CMC from Carmelite Convent, Karimatti, Sr Jophin CPS from Preshitharam Convent, Niwari, Sr Soumini CSN from Nazareth Nivas, Nowgong, Sr Jessy Tresa SABS and Sr Rincy Kachappilly SABS from Aradhana Bhavan Provincial House, Pateri and Sr Lincy FCC from FC Convent, Sidhi, celebrate the silver jubilee of their religious life this year.

Out of nine jubilee couples, six were present on this occasion to fete, celebrating the jubilee of their married life : Biju Mathew and Rosy B Mathew from St Vincent’s Cathedral, Satna, Shaji V George and Thresia Cheruvil from St Joseph’s Church, Panna, Emmanuel Kujur and Sunita Kujur, Little Flower Church, Tikamgarh, Roja Alexander from St Xavier’s Church, Rewa, Dominic Xaxa and Elan Xaxa, from St Thomas Church, Sidhi and Robert Joshua and Lilli Robert, golden couple from St Ephrem’s Church, Pateri.

A good cultural event was arranged by the eparchial authorities, and the programme was anchored by Fr John Pullan and Sr Pushpa Therese SABS. The candidates from the nearby formation houses showed up their talents on the stage. Bishop Mar Joseph Kodakallil greeted the jubilarians and honoured them by presenting a shawl and handing over the jubilee memento to each one of them. In response to the Jubilee gathering, the jubilarians shared their experiences and expressed their gratitude. With a sumptuous lunch, the programme came to a colourful end.
