Marveling at the marvelous works of God, joyously beholding the blessings of the Lord, enthusiastically singing
the praises of the Lord, gratefully thanking the greatness of the Lord, we the Sacred Heart Sisters of Jeeva
Jyothi Province Delhi is on the wheel of the Golden Jubilee of their missionary presence in North India, as
well as our Convent in Satna. Our hearts resonate with gratitude along with the Magnification of Mary our Mother.
First and foremost we thank God Almighty for the innumerable blessings we have received from Him. It was the
unseen hand of God that led us all through these years to witness him in the mission. The Sacred Heart Convent
Satna, erected in 14th June 1973, inaugurated its Golden Jubilee on 14th June 2022. It is a great joy and
contentment as we look back over the past years. Sacred Heart Convent, Satna is the second mission community of
Kothamangalam Province in North India. For laying it’s foundation , the then Mother General Late Rev. Sr.
Theresa Margret reached Satna along with Sr. Divine , Sr. Jenevieve, Sr. Pious , Sr. Assumpta, Sr. Christy and
Sr. Reena on 13th June, 1973. The Convent was blessed and inaugurated on January 26th, 1975 by His Excellency,
Late Mar. Abraham D. Mattam.
The Golden Jubilee Year was inaugurated with lighting the lamp by His Excellency Mar Joseph Kodakallil and our
Provincial Superior, Very Rev. Sr. Grace Poomkudy at 6.00 p.m. in the Convent Chapel. We have gathered around
the bounteous table of the Lord to celebrate the solemn thanksgiving Holy Qurbana by His Excellency, Rev. Bishop
and co-celebrants Rev. Fr. Thomas Thelakat the protosyncellus, Rev. Fr. Augutine Chittuparambil the syncellus
of the diocese. It increased our joy with the presence of our Provincial team and the pioneers of this mission
station very specially Rev. Sr Divine. Priests and Sisters from the neighboring communities have added colour
to the function.
Sr. Liz Maria S.H the superior of the Convent extended a hearty welcome to all and Rev. Sr. Christo SH, the
Vicar Provincial proposed vote of thanks. His Excellency in his homily appreciated the hard work, missionary
zeal and commitment of the pioneer sisters. Their perseverance, solidarity and contentment were remarkable.
The Jubilee year indeed a year of blessings for the Sacred Heard Congregation of Jeeva Jyothi Province. The
contributions of each and every member’s apostolic and missionary endeavors inspired more people to know about
the love of Jesus stimulating in them further reflection and action by enhancing our missionary outlook and
zeal. During this Jubilee Year we thank the Lord for the manifold blessings He has been showering on Jeeva
Jyothi Province during the long fifty years of its existence and implore God’s blessings and graces to move
ahead with more vigor and enthusiasm in fulfilling the missionary mandate of the Lord and in establishing the
kingdom of God as envisaged by Lord Jesus Christ in this part of North India.
