Foundation stone of the Cathedral was laid on 5th May, 1985. The present cathedral, as it is seen today, is the fruit of long study, meditation, discussion, travel and living of the culture of India, especially, that of Madhya Pradesh. St Vincent’s Cathedral is a blend of Hindu, Mughal and Buddhist architectural styles of North India with some features of Gothic architecture. On 30th December, 1991, the Vincent De Paul cathedral was blessed.
