The long awaited family renewal programme of Satna Zone commenced on 22nd September 2019 at St Vincent’s Cathedral, Satna. The renewal programme has begun with the Praise and Worship at 8.30 to 9.30 a.m. Rev. Fr Joshy Pullokaran, the resource person of the day, led the adoration, entrusting all the participants of programme into the caring hands of the loving Jesus Christ.

Rev. Fr Antony Pullan, the Director of Family and Laity Commission introduced Rev. Fr Joshy Pullokaran, the Administrator of Daya Sagar Shrine, Sagar, as the resource person to break Word of God in this family renewal. Fr Joshy narrated the creation of human being as if we are watching a drama from the book of Genesis. If family members are able to smile at each other as Adam smiled first time by seeing Eve, there will be happiness and trust in each and every family. The family prayer and steadfast faith in Almighty God is the remedy to the family problems. Jesus is the only multitalented person who can heal mentally and physically.

The resource person emphasised on the family bond which is the corner stone of the family life. The excess use of social media is very badly affecting the family bond. The couples were given exercise to renew the marital pledge which helped the families to renew the family bond with the oath taken during the Sacrament of Marriage. The couples danced and praised God the Almighty with songs by clapping their hands together.

There were many priests to help us to have meaningful confession from 1.45 p.m. onwards. The confession and inner healing prayer led by Fr Joshy Pullokaran and Fr Antony Pullan took place simultaneously. We could experience the outpouring of the Holy Spirit during this session. Many of the faithful got cured from various sicknesses and could find solutions to different family issues with the help of the Holy Spirit. There were many priests for the solemn celebration of the Holy Qurbana. His Excellency Mar Joseph Kodakallil was the main celebrant of Holy Qurbana at 3:30 p.m. The resource person was available for the faithful for the personal meeting and for imparting special blessing. Many of them were able to discuss their various family issues with the preacher personally and could sort out different issues with the help of God’s grace. There were many Christu Bhakthas (non-Christians) to celebrate the Holy Qurbana and to receive special blessing.

One of the parishioners of St Vincent De Paul church thanked Rev. Fr Joshy Pullokaran and the Family Renewal Team and the participants for this special day of God’s grace. He commented that it was a day of abundant blessings and many of the couples joined hands together after a long gap. Rev. Fr Antony Pullan, the Director, thanked the Parish Priest Rev. Fr John Thoppil and other priests who helped to make this day a day of blessings. There were many participants from St Ephrem’s Church Pateri, St Thomas’ Church Maihar, St Ephrem’s Church Kothi and St Joseph’s Church Panna. This renewal programme was in fact an eye opener for the family members to understand family values and to lead a meaningful and fruitful Christian life.
